About the Artist

Alexandra Fields O'Neale (b. 1989) is a Miami-based visual artist whose practice engages photography, video, and sound to examine Black identity, historical narratives, and ancestral trauma. Through immersive and interdisciplinary works, she creates space for collective reflection and dialogue around marginalized histories. 

O'Neale’s work has been featured at the Museum of Contemporary Art, North Miami (2024), Black Box Gallery (2020) in Portland, Oregon, Collective 62 in Miami, Florida (2025).  She is the recipient of the Knight Foundation's Knight Arts Challenge Award (2021) and Oolite's Ellies Creator Award (2022).

She earned a degree in Culture and Media from The New School in New York. Her artistic practice seeks to guide audiences through layered explorations of history and memory, fostering a deeper, shared understanding of self and community.
